ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Holiday travelers could face storm delays on Saturday as scattered thunderstorms move across central New Mexico, including Albuquerque. Drivers along I-25 and I-40 should expect slower conditions, especially late in the afternoon when storms intensify.
According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, Saturday carries a 30 percent chance of storms, mainly after 3 p.m. Gusty winds and brief downpours may reduce visibility and create slick roads. The chance of rain is lower at night but lingering showers remain possible.
Friday will bring hot and mostly sunny conditions, with highs near 94 before storms develop. Any storms could bring small hail or stronger wind gusts. Temperatures will ease into the lower 90s Saturday before dropping closer to the upper 80s by Sunday and Labor Day…
