ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue is helping Mora County after a disaster declaration was made earlier this week. On Wednesday, Mora officials confirmed with News 13 that the county is declaring a local disaster following flooding that left a road unusable, and several swift water rescues were made.

On Saturday, AFR says they are in Mora to help residents who may still be trapped in their homes or cut off from essential services. Mora County is still dealing with the aftermath of the 2022 Hermit’s Peak-Calf Canyon Fire, which left burn scars leading to flash flooding.
