Cactus and Succulent Show educating community on cacti

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Cacti and succulents bring a touch of beauty to our dry landscape, and Saturday, experts taught residents all about desert plants. The Cactus and Succulent Society of New Mexico educated guests about how these hardy plants thrive in the southwest heat.

What cacti and agaves grow well in New Mexico?

From the How Tos on planting the bulbs to identifying edible cacti, nothing was off topic at the show. “It’s really about being an educational event and about inviting the public to learn about cactus, ask their questions, see a nice variety of different plants from all over the world,” said Planting Committee Chair with the Cactus and Succulent Society of New Mexico, Elliott Gordon.
