City plans further changes to Central Ave. to protect pedestrians

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – According to city leaders, Central from Louisiana to Tramway is the worst corridor for pedestrian deaths in the country. However, thanks to several changes implemented, the city reports that the number of crashes and deaths is decreasing.

The city says they have been working on these changes along Route 66 for years, and they are starting to see results.

The city says overall deaths on Central are down 47% and serious crashes are down 60%…
