Video: Albuquerque mother charged for driving drunk with child in vehicle

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A five-year-old was critically injured in a car crash, and that child’s mother, admitted to driving drunk, after police say she blew almost three times the legal limit. It was the second time in a month that she was caught drunk behind the wheel.

It was just before six p.m. on March 30 when officers responded to a crash at Unser Blvd. and I-40. A vehicle travelling southbound on Unser t-boned another car exiting I-40 and trying to make a turn. Rebecca Salazar: “I just ran a red light, and that is what happened.”Officer: “You ran a red light? Salazar: “Yeah.”

But officers said the light was nowhere near where the crash happened. Witnesses said the driver of the car that caused the crash, later identified as Rebecca Salazar, was speeding…
