Volunteers plant flags at Rio Rancho park to remember 9/11 victims

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) –  People of all ages showed up bright and early at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho to remember the almost 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. Volunteers immediately got to work, placing miniature flags in the ground with care.

The annual event honors the lives senselessly lost in a moment that affected the world. Rio Rancho Mayor Greg Hull said he is impressed with the number of people who volunteer every year.
