ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — September is Atrial Fibrillation Awareness Month, which is fitting for the Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center.
Around 1-in-4 U.S. adults over 40 years old are at risk for AFib, a heart rhythm disorder. AFib can cause fatigue, palpitations and increase a person’s risk of a stroke – and age is the biggest risk factor.
