Suspect in death of teen left on Pajarito Mesa takes plea deal

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Domink Marquez took a plea deal in connection with the shooting death of a teen whose body was found on the Pajarito Mesa. Police said the then-17-year-old Marquez, along with Daniel Medrano-Garcia and Mariana Gomez, planned to rob 16-year-old Jesus Quintana-Cota in May 2024. The teen was shot and killed, then his body was left on the mesa.

Judge Joseph Moñtano accepted Marquez’s no-contest plea to first-degree murder, armed robbery, tampering with evidence, and two counts of conspiracy. He’s facing between 12 and 22 years in prison.
