New Mexico State Fair ribbon quilt now on display in Smithsonian

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — There are all sorts of creative arts contest winners on display at the New Mexico State Fair right now – and some of them could end up in a museum one day.

“It’s just so nice to know that the traditions are still alive in New Mexico.”

Between the stained glass artwork, holiday-themed table settings, model airplanes and even an intricate campground diorama, there is no shortage of award-winning creativity inside the State Fair’s Home and Creative Arts Showcase. In fact, there are 3,005 total entries this year – up from 2,850 total entries in 2024…
