Sandoval County’s first Narcan and gun lock vending machine already having impact

SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. — According to the New Mexico Department of Health, in 2021, every 8.5 hours someone died in New Mexico from an overdose. So how can we fight against New Mexico and the nation’s, drug epidemic?

First responders and advocates say the answer lies in Narcan, a medication that can reverse an overdose. KOB 4 has reported about Narcan before, but now it’s more readily available to New Mexicans in the metro.
