ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The city has had eyes on redeveloping a stretch of rundown restaurants and hotels near Menaul and I-25 for two years. Now a plan is taking shape, which could put new housing front and center.
It’s a stretch of Menaul, east of I-25, that’s full of empty restaurants and rundown hotels. An area the city wants to see flourish again.
The area was designated as a Metropolitan Redevelopment Area, which opens new tax breaks and other help to businesses. Now, there’s a new push to potentially change the rules, or zoning, around what can be built on parts of Menaul.
