ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — What a difference for our beloved Rio Grande. From bone dry, to flowing in a matter of weeks.
“This stretch of the Rio Grande was bone dry just two months ago. But as you can see here, the river is flowing again, thank those late monsoon rains,” said Anne Marken of the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. “However, experts tell me that this flowing river will likely be short-lived.”
That’s because of what Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District says the recent rain flow is leading to a temporary boost in the water supply. This is good news for farmers, irrigators and for people who just want to enjoy its beauty…
