Founders of Frontier and Golden Pride restaurants to be honored by New Mexico Restaurant Association

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – They’re behind some of Albuquerque’s most iconic restaurants, and now they will get a big honor later this month. Larry and Dorothy Rainosek, the founders of the Frontier Restaurant and Golden Pride, will receive the lifetime achievement award at the New Mexico Restaurant Association’s Hospitality Industry Awards.

Third Thursday at the Albuquerque Museum is all about dogs

Frontier has operated near the University of New Mexico since 1971, and Golden Pride remains a popular place for fried chicken, burritos, and sweet rolls.

“Dorothy and Larry Rainosek represent the very best of New Mexico’s restaurantcommunity,” said Carol Wight, CEO of the New Mexico Restaurant Association in a news release. “Their dedication to quality food, exceptional service, and most importantly, their treatment ofemployees as family, has made them icons in our industry. They truly embody the spiritof hospitality that we celebrate.”

The award ceremony is set for September 29 at the Sheraton Hotel in Uptown…
