New Mexicans honor lives lost to fentanyl with national “Walk for Lives” movement

BERNALILLO, N.M. — Tens of thousands of people came together to “Walk for Lives” Saturday. It was a national walk held all over the U.S. to honor the memories of those lost to fentanyl. New Mexico had four walks.

The goal went beyond remembrance. As each family member, friend or neighbor walked, many had a specific person in mind and recounted memories shared as they honored lives cut short. But the goal was to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
