Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office reminds drivers of crossing guard’s importance

“Every school day crossing guards are here to keep children and families safe on their way to and from school. A crossing guard’s job is to help everyone cross safely, not to direct traffic,” BCSO Sergeant Otero said. Officials say crossing guards are trained to report bad driving and dangerous behavior.
