VIDEO: Bernalillo County deputies talk to UPS driver who was abducted

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has obtained video showing what a UPS driver who was abducted while making deliveries and forced to flee from authorities told deputies. Deputies pulled the truck over near I-40 and Unser Blvd., and apprehended the man inside, 33-year-old Mukhammaed Emin Idrisov.

The UPS worker told deputies that Idrisov stopped him in To’Hajilee, claiming someone was trying to kill him. He said Idrisov then got into his truck and told him to drive away. He also said that Idrisov was armed with a knife and would not let him stop. “As soon as he saw you guys, he says, ‘That’s not the cops,’ and kept telling me to drive. Soon more of you guys show up. I don’t know if he finally understood or what,” said the driver.

Idrisov spoke in Russian, and deputies needed to use a translator on their body cameras to communicate with him. He claimed he had been poisoned that morning, but when asked to talk about what happened on the UPS truck, Idrisov declined to speak without an attorney.

Idrisov is now charged with false imprisonment and aggravated assault…
