Catholic church in Albuquerque hosts ‘Blue Mass’ to honor first responders

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A Catholic church in Albuquerque raised their voices Thursday to ask for blessings and protection for local first responders.

The Queen of Heaven Catholic Church hosted its 16th annual Blue Mass to honor people who have given their lives in service to our communities.

From police officers to firefighters to paramedics, organizers said first responders were welcome and encouraged them to wear their uniforms and get a free lunch as a way to say thank you…
