ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 13-year-old middle school student has admitted to bringing a loaded gun to an Albuquerque school and threatening classmates last May. The Bernalillo County District Attorney said the Jimmy Carter Middle School student admitted to the crimes on Friday.

Staff said they discovered the weapon after receiving a tip that the student was armed. School staff found the gun, and there was a bullet in the chamber, ready to be fired. Sentencing will take place at a later date.
