ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A major renovation is coming to one of the metro’s busy river crossings, and the work is slated to take years. The New Mexico Department of Transportation said crews could start work on the Rio Bravo Bridge as soon as next month, and they warn drivers that it will come with some detours.

Since 2017, construction projects have progressed west, from the Rio Bravo Interchange and all along Rio Bravo Boulevard. Now, NMDOT said they’re preparing to complete the last leg by reconstructing the Rio Bravo Bridge.
