ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — New construction has begun on an upcoming HAWK signal.This comes after a bicyclist was hit by a moving vehicle and died in July at the crossing where the signal is now being built.
County commissioners propose task force on speeding in Bernalillo County
These HAWK signals have red lights that stop traffic in both directions to allow pedestrians and bicyclists to cross a busy street. The signal will be on Carlisle Boulevard at the Paseo Del Norte trail. It’s expected to be operational by mid-November.
