ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Current Albuquerque City Councilor Louie Sanchez is among the candidates awaiting the results for mayor. In a room full of family and friends, at his home, the mayoral candidate thanked and applauded the vital members of his campaign.
“I feel extremely optimistic,” said Sanchez. “I think that we have done every single thing to put us in a position where we can work to be in this runoff. And make sure that we have positive interactions with as much of the community as possible. Everyone in here feels optimistic, we have a lot of energy in our camp. And that energy is going to sustain us through the whole night.”
Sanchez has been a City Councilor for the westside District 1 since 2021. He’s been a longtime resident of Albuquerque, graduating from West Mesa and serving over 20 years in the Albuquerque Police Department. He currently owns and operates his own insurance business and hopes he will be able to serve his community…
