ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A part of Central Ave. in Albuquerque just got a little brighter. The city’s Department of Municipal Development partnered with Zeon Signs to bring the sign located on Central Ave. and 65th St. back to life.

The company said they cleaned out the whole sign, repainted it, and added new lights. To celebrate, people were invited to come out on Friday night to see the sign light up. “I think the favorite part of that process was just the refurbish, being able to pull those pieces off and make sure they were in good condition, and you know, repainting everything, and over the last couple of nights, being able to see it light up is going to be really nice up here,” said James Rogers, Owner of Zeon Signs.
This latest project is one step closer to the 100th anniversary of Route 66 coming up next year…
