Former Albuquerque doctor ordered to pay $1.5M restitution for role in Medicaid fraud scheme

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A former doctor in Albuquerque will not spend any time behind bars, after he admitted to playing a part in a Medicaid fraud scheme.

According to the New Mexico Department of Justice, Dr. Keith Levitt pulled off the scheme with the help of former New Mexico State Police Officer Morgan Ortiz through a substance abuse recovery program they ran, which has since been shut down.
