ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were involved in a shooting near Central Ave. and Wisconsin St. On Wednesday night, BCSO said they tried to pull a car over in the area. “At 4:47 this evening, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area. We had one suspect detained during that traffic stop, another suspect in the vehicle then fled on foot. Some sort of altercation ensued at that point, and then shots were fired,” said Jayme Gonzales, Public Information Officer, BCSO.
Deputies haven’t said if the man had a gun or what led up to the shots being fired. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. No deputies were injured.
