My Blue bus service offering rides to New Mexico veterans

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Veterans and active duty service members will have a new and free way to get around town. This is thanks to the unique program My Blue, which allows veterans can get free services in service zones in and around Española, Edgewood, Pojaque, and Taos.

ABQ RIDE transitions to new transit app

Nicholas Sofoul, the executive director for the North Central Regional Transit District, says this is just a small way for them to honor those who have served our nation. “Nine percent of New Mexico residents are veterans; however, that percentage is higher in certain service areas, as high as nearly 25%, and so this provides a way not only to honor their service but to improve access to jobs or healthcare that they might need for their families,” says Sofoul.

Veterans and those in active service just have to present a copy of a valid veteran or military ID when they enter the buses…
