Mother dead, children injured in DWI crash with Albuquerque man charged

VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. — An Albuquerque man is accused of driving drunk and causing a head-on crash that killed a woman and critically injured her two children.

Valencia County Sheriff’s deputies accuse 37-year-old Richard Gutierrez Molina of allegedly driving his Ford F-250 drunk and killing 38-year-old Veronica Ferraro on Sunday in Los Lunas. Her two children, ages seven and 12, are in the hospital with “life-threatening injuries.” VCSO provided details Wednesday.

At around 3:28 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the intersection of El Cerro Loop and Sandhill Road in Los Lunas about a reported head-on crash.
