Cloudier skies with peeks of sunshine were present in the Duke City this morning. This has kept temperatures cooler across the state at the start of the afternoon. Tonight, cloudier skies are expected across New Mexico with clearer skies down south. Dry conditions are sticking not only around for Friday, but through most of Saturday before an upper-level low pressure system pushes into Arizona. Tomorrow, a mix of sunshine and clouds will blanket the state with warmer high temperatures in at least southwest New Mexico and Albuquerque.
On Saturday night showers are slated to return to southwestern New Mexico which will lead to widespread rain chances overnight into Saturday evening. Snowfall will also be a factor with this storm system in mountainous or higher terrain. Breezy conditions are possible on Sunday with this low-pressure system and along the central mountain chain throughout the day on Monday. After the weather maker slides off into Colorado cooler air will still remain through next week.
High temperatures in Albuquerque are expected to keep high temperatures in the 50s and 60s throughout the next week. However, we may finally see our first freeze at the International Sunport all fall season. If we don’t hit freezing tomorrow morning there is a good chance early next week, we could see temperatures fall to the freezing point. This will mark the latest freeze on record in Albuquerque. The last record was set on November 22, 2007. Have a good weekend!…
