Man arrested for allegedly driving drunk at nearly twice the speed limit

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A man was arrested for allegedly driving drunk at almost twice the speed limit on a busy road in northeast Albuquerque.

Joaquin Luevano, 22, faces charges for drinking alcohol and allegedly getting his Dodge Challenger Hellcat up to 76 mph in a 40 mph.

At around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputy allegedly clocked Luevano at that speed on Wyoming Boulevard at Menaul Boulevard – but then caught up to him at a red light at Montgomery Boulevard. When the light turned green, the deputy hit their lights but Luevano allegedly took off and weaved through traffic…
