ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — If you’re traveling for the holidays this weekend, you’re not alone. Over 26,000 silvery minnows are now swimming free in the Rio Grande.
The endangered silvery minnow took a trip from the BioPark’s aquatic conservation facility to the Alameda Bridge. This year, the BioPark released over 44,000 minnows into the wild.
The BioPark says this is just another step in the ongoing commitment to the conservation of this species – something they’ve been a part of since 2000…
