ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man was sentenced Wednesday for his role in a 2023 murder. Judge Matthew Chavez sentenced Kristopher Darling to 15 years in prison for his role in the murder of Brandy McManus.

Darling, Joseph Montano and Austin Wilkins are accused of driving to McManus’ home in October 2023. According to the criminal complaint, the trio was planning to rob McManus, but she refused to open the door. Montoya and Wilkins are accused of shooting through the door and killing McManus in front of her 11-year-old daughter.
