SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho woman is seeking justice after her dog was shot while on a walk in what she said was a random shooting. Her dog is recovering, while the shooter is still on the loose. “He’s spunky, he’s still a little puppy, so he loves to play, but he’s just a sweetheart. Any person he sees, he’s going to go up to them, he wants to lean on them,” said Ringo’s Owner, Nicole Tatum.

The playful pup, named Ringo, has had a rough week. Tatum said November 28 was traumatic for them both.
While on a routine walk with her three dogs on a trail next to Rainbow Boulevard near Rio Rancho, Tatum said a red Jeep drove by where she and her dogs were walking. She said the driver slowed down and shot at her dogs, hitting Ringo a number of times. “I heard the engine slow down, and that’s when I heard the shots. Pretty much back-to-back. I heard my dog scream. Obviously, I can’t imagine what he was going through in that moment,” said Tatum…
