State unveils preliminary plans for the future of the New Mexico State Fairgrounds

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New ideas are emerging for how up to half of the New Mexico State Fairgrounds could be revamped, with everything from new park space to entertainment venues. It’s important to note that no decisions have been made on exactly what would happen there, but three new proposals unveiled this Monday are meant to get neighbors talking, to help fine-tune the vision for the fairgrounds.

Former Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez has a big role in the project. “Well, the governor has said that not everybody will get their way. That doesn’t happen in the real world, but everybody will be so we want to encourage everyone to voice their opinions and more importantly their ideas for the possibilities for the future for this part of Albuquerque.”…
