New Mexico man accused of attacking aunt and setting her house on fire pleads guilty to charges

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico man accused of setting his aunt’s house on fire and attacking her has pleaded guilty to his charges. Richard Seago Jr. confessed to police after his arrest in August that he had attacked his aunt and set her house on fire. Police said they found Seago’s aunt on the ground in her smoke-filled home.

While she was hospitalized, Seago Jr. used her debit card across several states, withdrawing more than $2,000 in cash. According to court documents, Seago later called 911 to confess. He faces up to 22.5 years in prison.
