ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A flight from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, had to make an unexpected stop in Albuquerque after a passenger went into labor. Kirtland Air Force Base said the plane was bound for Denver when the medical emergency began Monday evening.
After the plane touched down at the Albuquerque International Sunport, the woman was removed from the plane, and she gave birth in the back of an Albuquerque Fire Rescue ambulance, thanks in large part to Kirtland Paramedic Brittany Vargas, who took the lead during the emergency. Both mother and baby were taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital, and the base said they are in good condition…
