State promises to raise railing at Rio Grande Gorge Bridge after multiple suicides this year

TAOS COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The state is making a new commitment to make the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge safer and keep people from taking their lives. That announcement was made on Friday as advocates are mourning another suicide on the bridge this week.

The Taos community gathered at the bridge on Friday to demand change to raise the rails and remember the lives that have been lost there. “The rails are right here. Just above my hip.
