ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Homicide detectives with the Albuquerque Police Department have arrested a man late Friday night in connection with two separate shootings. Jevon Thomas, 28, is charged with fatally shooting a woman on Tuesday and critically injuring a man during a shooting early Friday, both in the area of Montgomery and Carlisle boulevards.
Police say Thomas is suspected of shooting and killing a woman around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday inside her car. They say that after the woman was shot, her car crashed into a curb on Carlisle, west of Jefferson. She died at the scene of the gunshot wound. Detectives learned Thomas had the woman’s cell phone and was tracked to nearby apartments.
Friday’s shooting happened at the Atrium Apartments at 4200 Montgomery NE. When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He told them he was shot by an unknown person. The victim is in the hospital in critical but stable condition.
