Festival of the Nativities held in Corrales

CORRALES, N.M. (KRQE) – At the Corrales Festival of the Nativities, dozens gathered to enjoy over 100 intricately crafted nativity scenes from all over the world. The Nativity scene is a traditional Christian display featuring figures representing the birth of Jesus Christ, including Mary, Joseph, shepherds, the three wise men, and animals.

“A lot of people have mentioned that coming here has gotten them in the spirit. Like, it’s the first time they got into the spirit of Christmas. We do have an educational component where we tell who began the Nativities, it was St. Francis. We also have some maps where all these Nativities came from because they come from around the world,” said Veronica Dutczak, chairwoman of the Nativities Festival.

This is the ninth year that the Nativities Festival has been held at the Corrales Old Church…
