VIDEO: Rio Rancho police arrest group accused of thefts in multiple states

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It was a criminal scheme, spanning from coast to coast across at least 11 states, with the suspects finally being caught in New Mexico. Lapel video shows the arrests outside a Rio Rancho Walmart, where police said three men were trying to steal by posing as delivery drivers.

On December 10, Rio Rancho police were called to the Walmart on Unser Boulevard and Southern. Investigators working for Walmart had called 911 and said a group was possibly going to steal from the store. However, this was no ordinary shoplifting.

According to court records, Deshawn Jaynes, Marc Smith, and Alexander Paredes would pose as Spark delivery drivers, showing Walmart employees images on their phones to make it look like they were picking up an order…
