Arrests for outside fires prompt AFR-APD increase in patrols

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Albuquerque Police Department are increasing nightly patrols after arrests were made for recent outside fires.

APD arrested 60-year-old Felicia Cano for starting a fire Saturday that severely damaged the Broadway Market Place at Broadway and Coal Avenue. Cano allegedly lit papers and threw them into a ventilation opening of the building, causing the fire that left 14 families displaced and led to $35,000 in damage.
