ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The owner of a local Christmas tree farm has been in the business for 40 years, taking it over from his grandfather, who started Roybal’s Christmas Trees over 60 years ago.
Christmas has always been in Ted Roybal’s blood. He was born on Christmas Day. His grandfather started a Christmas tree farm in Albuquerque in the 1960s, intending to cut all his own trees.
“Growing up, I was always in the mountains with him, cutting trees every year,” Roybal said. “When I became of working age, a young teenager, I started cutting. I was more involved in my high school years. I missed a lot of school to come do Christmas trees.”…
