APD: Bullet lodged in radio and saved officer’s life during shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque police officer survived a suspect allegedly shooting him in the chest Sunday because the bullet lodged into a part of his uniform, according to APD.

The shooting happened Sunday afternoon at the Rodeway Inn, near Coors Boulevard and Iliff Road — close to I-40. Two officers confronted a suspect at the hotel after the suspect took off from them.
