Albuquerque Premiere Pickleball facility prepares to open in January

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –  The fastest-growing pickleball chain in the country, The Picklr, is preparing to open a location in Albuquerque in the new year, hoping to bring picklers a new space to play. Premier Pickleball received the keys to the property this past May to create this new space.

“They want a place to play indoor, and we just want to give them a place that’s going to be great for them,” explained COO of Premier Pickleball Marty Garcia. “We have 12 courts that we’re building and currently under construction. Five of those courts will be championship courts along with event space, locker rooms, as well as the pro shop.”

The 39,000 square foot location off Eubank and Lomas was a former furniture store and will be a first for New Mexico: the temperature-controlled courts allow picklers to play year-round.

“So with the weather in Albuquerque, we know that it’s often very windy here, often very cold, could be very, very hot, where someone might not be able to play after 6 or 8 a.m. Once the sun comes out, it’s very, very difficult to maintain through the heat,” continued Garcia, which gives people the luxury of playing whenever it’s convenient for them. Their hours are 6:00 a.m. to midnight…
