Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office identifies man killed in deputy shooting

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office on Monday identified the man who deputies shot and killed in southeast Albuquerque on Dec. 16.

Marc Dutch, 42, fled from deputies on foot following a traffic stop at 6:05 p.m. in the 300 block of Virginia Street NE. BSCO said deputies were working a proactive auto theft detail as part of Operation Triple Beam when they attempted a traffic stop on Dutch, who was riding a motorcycle.

While Dutch fled on foot, deputies established a perimeter with assistance from the BCSO Metro One Air Unit. A short time later, deputies “reengaged” with Dutch near the 300 block of Wisconsin Street NE. During that encounter, a deputy-involved shooting occurred, BCSO stated in a news release.

Dutch died on the scene. BCSO said he had a “significant” criminal history, including felony cases that include two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, embezzlement of a motor vehicle, burglary, and a felon in possession of a firearm case…
