Albuquerque woman sentenced for road rage shooting last month has not reported to prison

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It was a moment of road rage when an Albuquerque woman shot a man twice in the back. A judge sentenced her to prison last month, but court records show she still is not behind bars.

“The incident in November of 2024 cost me my work truck, cost me thousands of dollars in equipment,” said Pablo Lujan, a victim. Albuquerque business owner Lujan was stopped at a red light on Eubank Blvd. and Comanche Rd. when a silver truck hit him from behind. Lujan said he approached the woman, 37-year-old Heather Lopez, but she pulled out a handgun.

“I took her to the ground and then took her weapon from her, removed the magazine, and the loaded, chambered with ammo. As I was walking away, she pulled out a second gun from the same bag and shot me in the back,” said Lujan…
