ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left one person dead in downtown Albuquerque.

APD says officers heard shots being fired just before 3 a.m. on Gold Ave., between 7th and 8th St. Police took one person into custody and located one person suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, no other details have been released.
