Albuquerque mayor names interim police chief

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller has appointed Cecily Barker as interim Albuquerque Police Department Chief. Barker will lead the department while the city conducts a nationwide search for a permanent replacement. A 20-year veteran at APD, Barker currently serves as Deputy Chief for the Field Services Bureau, overseeing the department’s six area commands. She has also worked as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief for the investigations bureau. Barker replaces Harold Medina, who recently retired from the position.

Mayor Keller has reappointed Emily Jaramillo as Albuquerque Fire Rescue Chief and Samantha Sengel as Chief Administrative Officer. He has also renamed Lauren Keefe as interim City Attorney and Ethan Watson as interim City Clerk.
