ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico man has been arrested after police say he pointed a gun at his fiancée and one-month-old son. Twenty-two-year-old Hunter Apachito is facing multiple charges after police say on New Year’s Day, he was drunk and took their infant son from his fiancée’s sister’s apartment without their knowledge.
His fiancée found him and their son back at their apartment, but as soon as she tried to get their son back, she told police he started punching her in the face multiple times. The victim told police that she tried to drive away with their one-month-old to safety, but that’s when he started pointing his gun at both of them.
Police found and arrested Apachito. Prosecutors filed a motion for pretrial detention, hoping to keep him locked up until his trial. His detention hearing is set for Tuesday…
