VIDEO: Man charged after woman injured in wrong-way Albuquerque crash in October

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A wrong-way crash trapped a woman inside her car in Albuquerque in late October, and getting her out proved to be no easy feat. Newly released police video gave a look at what police and emergency crews faced on the crash scene and what witnesses say happened.

The vehicle was a mangled blue Lexus, with a woman trapped inside, stopped in the middle of Coors Blvd. A few feet away, a blue Audi, smoke billowing from the hood. The driver inside was later identified as Jaiden Wetsel. A New Mexico State Police officer dragged Wetsel from the car, but back at the smashed Lexus, it was clear that getting the driver out wouldn’t be so easy.

While waiting for the rescue crew, state police officers try to pry open the door. It ended up taking a crew of first responders, working for more than 30 minutes, to free the woman…
