ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – New Mexico State Police are asking for the public’s help in a fatal hit-and-run investigation near Farmington.
On January 2, 2026, around 1:47 a.m., officers responded to a crash scene on Highway 371 near County Road 8501. A woman was found dead near the northbound shoulder. Investigators believe the crash happened between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m.
Based on debris at the scene, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2021 or 2022 GMC Canyon midsize pickup truck of unknown color. The truck likely has damage to the driver’s side headlight and fog light, and possibly the grille and front bumper…
