[1] Santa Fe Police provide update on what caused shelter-in-place Thursday – Santa Fe Police issued a shelter-in-place alert for people in the area of St. Francis Dr. between NM599 and Alamo Dr. on Thursday afternoon. According to police, just before 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man who had a rifle on top of the Santa Fe Spa and had fired twice. Law enforcement searched for several hours but did not find the suspect. Police are asking for anyone within the area to check their property for damage and to look at security video for an armed person. Anyone with information is asked to contact Santa Fe Police at 505-428-3710.

[2] Rain & snow depart New Mexico with colder & breezy weather – A powerful winter storm brought snow and cold temperatures to parts of the state, including in the Metro. Lingering snow activity has remained in the mountains through northern, central, and eastern areas. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 20s to low 50s from the west to eastern part of the state. Temperatures will then drop to below normal by tomorrow morning before gradually warm up later in the weekend.

[3] Judge orders shut down of homeless camp at ABQ bookstore – After complaints from neighbors and an ongoing legal battle between the city and a bookstore owner, a judge ruled in favor of the city. After allowing a homeless encampment in their parking lot, a judge ordered the owner of Nob Hill bookstore Quirky Used Books and More to shut it down. The city said it’s a public health hazard, saying people are using the bathroom outside, starting fires, using drugs, and other criminal activity. Quirky Books has until January 20 to clear the encampment…
